Hayden update!,

Hayden is almost 5 as he says! :) he started pre-k in thw fall. He loves it. His teacher brought to.out attention that he was lip reading and could not hear if not facing you. That brought alor of  things ro our attention. His speach, his atrwntuon span, his grabbing your face to look at him when talking to him.
So we took him in for his hearing test. He had 95/85% hearing loss due to middle ear issues from a broken nose causeing mucus drainage to build up. That new broke my heart as a monny to hear this.
We  started nasal steroids to dry up the mucus. It worked. He was hearing better, not great but better. Only problem was insomnia. The child has sleep issues as it is. With the medicine it was keeping.him awake till 6 am with meletonin. Poor fella. Our next option was tubes.
We really could not afford it. Would be close to 2 grand. So.we tried changing medicine time and dosage. Nothing worked and Hayden slowly became mean and hateful and not sleeping. So Brian and I sat down and talked. We both cried. We didnt know.what to do. But we prayed hard and talked with hayden and decidEd to stop the meds and save for the.surgery. Then we got a letter saying insurance would cover the Surgery! We were so happy, but short lived. We later got a call saying we woukd need 3 grand as a deposit. I criex so hard then prayed then called my dad. Anything for my son. We have been working on ASK but if I could help him hear I wanted to. So pawpaw Lent us the money! Thank God!
Hayden had the Surgery. He had a ruff few days. He begged for his old ears back and woukd cry when people talked. But a few days later he was doing well. He was talking better and being silly. I do miss.hearing "I love you eating!" He.doesnt say it anynore. We may never know what it meant. But I LOVE seeing his face light up to new sounds as he hears something and says "you hear that momma. I hear tbat" crickets wad a rememberable favorite. He was so happy.
He has adjusted great surgery was January it is now April. He is thriving in school and is talking so mucb and clear. He lives documentaries. We took him to the natural science museum and boy did he have a blast. He love dinosaurs and  sceince. Such a smart boy.
He still has off days and we have to make sure he ia looking at us. Or when in large groups we have to sign because.he gets over whelmed and cant concentrate enough to process all the sounds. He passes his hearing  test at 50% & 65% not the best but so perfect and  blessing for sure. God is great!
